Using backuplist+
Backuplist+ is very simple and intuitive to use.

To create a simple backup session;
- launch backuplist+.
- Create a new set in the Backup set column or use the Default set provided.
- Add your administrator password in the Global settings panel. This is advised but not necessary for copying your own files. See below...
- Add files to the list window with add (+) or just drag and drop files/folders into the list window.
- set a destination for the backup with the Destination text field - just drag the destination folder or disk into the text field. Or press the "Browse" button for a dialog and navigate there.
- Press "Calculate sizes" to get correct sizes for the backup process. This step is not necessary but for your own information.
- Press "Backup"
- Backuplist+ will create a new folder on the destination called "mybackup" which will be the destination for your backed up files. You can change that name uncheck the folder option altogether. For this and more options: press the "gear" button to see the settings panel.
Important!
Backuplist+ will need your password to copy any system files or files with permissions other than your own.
You can enter your password in the Global settings Pane. Backuplist+ works much better and often needs an administrator password to perform certain tasks, including backing up certain files. The password is protected in a hidden text field and encrypted during quit and relaunch. If you do not enter your password you can still use backuplist+ to copy and backup your own folders as long as the files have your own permissions.
